During our filming it was important for our group: me Devon, Lucy and Sophie to take various pictures of our artist in different scenes and backgrounds. These pictures will be used in out magazine advert, album cover and digipak, this meant that we needed a wide range of pictures and a large amount of pictures to choose from in order to get the perfect image and make our music video promotion more successful. The different pictures taken will allow the audience to see our artist in different ways for example in the bath naked, and fully clothed outside with a hat on, this shows a contrast in our artist's behaviour making the images in our advert and digipak to portray different emotions and feelings of our artist so that we can have an easier task in choosing these.
This photo of our artist in the bath would entice the male audience as she is naked and wearing red lipstick which is very sensual and provocative, this would allow the audience to see the promiscuous side of our artist and see that she is conventional to the soul genre as the soul genre often contains sexual or revealing visuals. In the photo you can also see that the artist is covered mostly by bubbles, this makes her still seem classy and professional as she isn't completely revealing her body, this image will be used in our digipak because it is a personal picture of the artist and the digipak is used to add a personal feel for the audience in relation to the artist. This photo would not be very appropriate in an album advert as it is very revealing and could possibly be inappropriate for younger audiences and could make them dislike the artist.
(Picture of mirror and lipstick writing)
This image of our artist writing "a true reflection" on the mirror in lipstick will be used for our album advert, this is because not only does it promote our artist and a star as she is looking vain in the mirror, but it promotes our album name. The album name being written in lipstick makes the music video and artist seem feminine and attract the female audience as the lipstick is relatable, the lipstick colour is red which connotes love, this is typical of the soul genre as love is a common theme of soul music as artists normally sing about previous relationships. The artist is wearing the same lipstick that is used to write on the mirror, this promotes the artist more as a new audience will know who the artist is and that the album name is "a true reflection" this will increase publicity for our artist and her album.
You have provided a basic analysis of your photoshoot, explaining what your thoughts were when taking each picture and how your artist is represented
ReplyDeleteYou need to:
1) Think carefully about how the artist is represented in each picture and how this appeals to an audience
2) Analyse two more pictures and include all picture analysed!
3) Explain where and why you will use certain pictures in either your advert or digipak
4) Elaborate on why certain things will appeal to an audience more
4) Include a conclusion explaining how you found taking these pictures and why you think this will help your group produce more successful adverts/digipaks
